The business contracts to deal with rebuilding in the construction industry were signed within the last month and do have the dinar price listed in them. The dinar price was the current bank rate at the time of signing. They are expecting more deals in the future and are very confident that they will include the dinar price as well. According to them, contracts without a listed price are worthless. If a contract doesn't have a price listed, they are not worth the paper they were written on. Some of their aides are in Iraq presently and are working towards the completion of further contracts. They have no idea about the RV..and stared at me a bit weirdly when I mentioned RV as if to question my intentions. It's worth mentioning that a lot of contracts have been signed during the past few years without the need for a foreign investment or hydrocarbon law and it's unlikely to impede future contract negotiations. Based on the conversation I have had, I'm having trouble tallying the Aussie CEO's comments with my associates' comments. I shall refrain from voicing my opinions as I can only account for the information from my associates and it would be unwise to comment on someone else's take on happenings. I shall leave it for you folk to make your own conclusions. Good luck to you all on this journey, which on the face of it seems to be never-ending!
Bizness, thank you. I appreciate your info but most of all how you said it. This is exactly how to post possible differing information or view point. Excellent. No bashing or harsh words and it was done with respect. Could you give classes? (lol)

Perhaps time brings about a change "business as usual". After all Iraq is changing in such a fashion that the way they did business has to change.

And just why do you think it is known as the "darkside"? Apparently neither you nor them read or understood post #467 in the news thread, where it states that the Iraqi parliament will not be allowed to leave for holiday unless they complete this session.I brought that post from there but you would rather believe all the useless and negative stuff that gets posted there. They email Delarue to find out if the lower denoms have been printed??? The lop argument gets restarted in every other thread? PUH LEEZE!!! Hang around there if you must but don't bring their negativity back here with you!

Haven't you heard that the children can't go out to play 'till they've done their homework.

Wow, another cross-poster! Interestingly, they seem to be coming out of the closet! Here's an idea...choose your Forum, but choose well.
NO! DON"T GIVE IN TO THE HATE! DON"T TURN TO THE DARKSIDE!

Whats this then? I guess since you choose not to believe it, it must be "smoke and mirrors"

    Parliament-Session-Update 1
    Parliament passes 2007 national budget
    By Santa Michael
Baghdad, Feb 8, (VOI)- Iraq's Parliament approved on Thursday an ID 42,640,000 million (USD 32,200 million) FY 2007 budget.
The budget approval was delayed for almost two weeks for differences among major blocs over two issues, the financial appropriations for the three presidencies and allocations for Iraq's Kurdistan region's guards (peshmerga).
The parliament passed the 2007 budget in Thursday's session with majority after an agreement was reached to move five percent of the total financial appropriations to the parliament presidency office.
Earlier, the parliament speaker today's ordered a private session to give the defense minister, who was present at the session, a chance to answer lawmaker's enquiries openly.
Some legislators asked the Speaker to declare a private session so that the defense minister could answer all enquiries without harming any classified information that he might be mentioning during the session.
Speaker Dr. Mahmoud al-Mashhadani who chaired today's session ordered all journalists out of the parliament hall.
Thursday's session was the last before a month recess.

Try not to tear me apart this time sir. Thank you

I can certainly appreciate your frustration but we make the mistake of viewing Iraq through a western eye. There are definitely people within the Iraqi parliament who are actively doing all they can to sabotage this effort. They could care less about a thriving economy built on democratic capitalism. They just want to be in a power position as the vacuum gets filled.
