People just dont read. In the News thread yesterday morning. It was stated that 130 family's had already recieved and business were already opening back up. I would go find it. but then you would not find and read it yourself. SO.....................

Baghdad attacks down by 80 percent: Iraqi army

BAGHDAD - Attacks and killings in Baghdad have dropped by 80 percent since Iraqi and US forces launched their security plan for Baghdad, Iraqi army spokesman Qasim Al Musawi said on Saturday.


“Terror operations in Baghdad dropped by 80 percent,” since the Iraqi government officially launched a broad plan aimed at snuffing out sectarian violence in the capital, Musawi said.

“The morgue was receiving 40-50 bodies per day before and now has received only 20 in the last 48 hours,” added the spokesman for Lieutenant General Abboud Gambar, who commands a joint force of Iraqi soldiers and policemen.

Musawi said that 144 people had been arrested in the four days since Iraqi Prime Minister Nuri Al Maliki announced the operation was underway, adding that “they were wanted suspects and the arrests were not arbitrary.”

US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, who made an unannounced visit to Baghdad on Saturday, cautioned separately that “it’s too early to expect there to have been real results from the plan.

“The Baghdad security plan is just beginning to unfold and it’s important to realize it was never intended to be a single day, it was intended to ramp up over time,” Rice told reporters accompanying her on the trip.

The Iraqi army spokesman told reporters at his press briefing that sweeps through nests of illegal fighters had allowed 130 displaced families to return to their homes and stores to reopen for business.

“Shops along Haifa street that were closed during last month’s operations are now open,” Musawi said in reference to a fierce firefight on one of Baghdad’s main shopping streets on January 25.

So nice to read this thread, lol, mostly positive minds here. Let's just wait for tomorrow, and they're updating their webpage (meaning cbiraq.org) only about 11 AM my time, that's +2 GMT, i think they're about an hour back or something like that.
