WRONG!! they can always give them more. $78 is enough for an iraqi to eat for a time. these are displaced iraqis-more is probably being done for them.

First they give out plots, then they give them 100,000 Dinar in a check! Wonder why this is? Maybe to build a new home. Certainly not for them to piss it up against the wall on food! Thats what ration cards are for?? Considering it costs 127,000USD to build a small home a RV is right around the corner.

The recipients are poor and in no position to place the handouts into savings accounts while anticipating a r/v down the road...so they might buy a few pairs of shoes and some food but nothing that will make any kind of difference in their lives at the present exchange rate...really pathetic and short-sighted of the lazy, corrupt and illiterate Iraqi leaders. If they don't have the common decency and sense to r/v before such handouts are distributed, the riots that will ensue when the r/v does come will dwarf any sectarian violence to date. We can only hope that this will not be the case. I have no idea what those morons in power will do anymore.

Danny, Is it confirmed that the monies were passed out in cash and not certificates. From what I have been reading, it sounds like cash was not used.

We can only hope. However, if it does not RV tomorrow, and these handouts have been distributed, we are a long way away. As mentioned before, there would be riots if there was a lag between handouts and an RV.

IMHO there should be NO accountability for rumours. The definition of rumour is an unsubstanciated statement or story, so why should anyone be held responsible for it's validity? There is no accountability by its very own definition! Many rumours contain true facts. Many truths begin as rumours. I appreciate ALL rumours and personally feel that anyone NOT appreciating them should just not read them. It is a choice...if you read them then don't complain if they are not accurate and do not bear out the content. If you can't take the heat of disappointment, then just avoid them altogether. Will those so angry about rumours still feel that way when the positive rumour turns into fact? Will they then still criticize the one providing the rumour? I think not.

"It has happened" To me and many other people that is a statement of a fact not a rumor. This should not be in a rumor thread at all but in the news thread if it en-deed has happened. There are only two ways a statement can go. Yes or No! It either has happened or it has not happened. If I say "I have a dog" That is a statement of fact not a rumor. I either have a dog or I don't. Simple semantics would solve alot of problems in the presentation of a rumor.

Thanks for your RUMOR post today and in the past. If I wanted facts I would go to the serious threads but RUMORS are just what they are, RUMORS. It's like playing the lottery, just fun to think about, so please disregard the folks that are too serious for the RUMOR board.

The problem with your statement is that the rumour of It has happened is an info being passed along. This statement is coming from a third person while your statement of I have a dog is a fact not a rumour because it is coming directly from you.
