The problem with your statement is that the rumour of It has happened is an info being passed along. This statement is coming from a third person while your statement of I have a dog is a fact not a rumour because it is coming directly from you.

I don't believe that. "It has happened" is a statement of fact being passed along not a rumor being passed along. Just because it is third person does not make it a rumor. If I told you I had a dog which you say is not a rumor then you turn around and tell your friend I have a dog all of a sudden it is now a rumor? NO! Why? Because you believe my fact to be just that a fact. So you pass it on as one!

It is completely natural for a person to be excited when they hear something as big as the rumor of a Reval. The words they choose to convey this message to us will invariably differ from presenter to presenter.

I have learned in the last couple years that when you are in the rumor section of ANY forum, you should insert your OWN disclaimer before reading the posts.

If the original post is presented as fact (for you sticklers of semantics), simply add your own beginning BEFORE reading the post. If someone posts, in the RUMOR thread, a statement such as "The Dinar Has Revalued!!!!" you MUST add your own beginning to make it read "I heard that The Dinar Has Revalued!!!!".

Most of us have come to put aside semantics whenever in the RUMOR thread and don't need this advice. But it is also clear that many do not understand the very nature of the Rumor Thread is just that....Rumors!

If you post (in the rumor thread) that "I Have a Dog" and apply my simple disclaimer, it would be changed to "I heard that I Have a Dog" and this would change your statement into a rumor, and not fact.

Semantics and spelling are often overlooked in public forums. At least these rumors that are "presented as fact" end up in the proper category, Rumors.

As a side note, the next time you read a fortune cookie, add the words "In The Bedroom" to the end of the fortune. Now that's Funny!

All I am trying to say is if the posters would present it as a rumor and not "done deal" or "it has happened" there might not be as much pounding on the poster. Thats all! Done Deal here! And thats a fact!

Well, this rumour is in effect until the first move on the CBI site this week - which is tomorrow. CBI says:

" Note: The prices of the bulletin issued on Sunday will adopted for Monday also due to the weekend in New York ."

Weekend + President's Day -- NY stock Exch is closed. So , we have one more day to go on this one. Not over yet. Still hoping here...poor me..

I don't understand why Rumor Posters don't want to take "Responsibility" for Info their Posts?? As soon as it falls flat, they start Name-Calling and threatening others? Instead of "Oops" I was wrong, the others asking questions are Yahoos and Neysayers!! The other Forums are laughing at You for the 15th time a Bad Rumor goes down in flames!

My own view is that anyone who posts a "it has happened/it definately will happen on xxx date" rumour and gets it wrong more than twice is largely ignored by me from then on.

It's a typical "cry wolf" scenario. One day, they may be right, but by then nobody will listen to them.

I guess I should have posted this in the news thread because the person who told me this said it was a fact. The word is Caddieman has a cat! Lol.

All kidding aside, the original rumor was and is: "it had already happened and we were awaiting notification."

Then Susie added her personal opinion: "why i am eagerly anticipating this weekends passing."

Shame on Susie, doesn’t she know that she can’t have a personal opinion without a link. Lol

The word I got is the guy said the papers were signed and we are waiting for the announcement, he didn’t say anything about this weekend. I think that was just a natural “American” assumption.

Here is a fact, the FIL is a done deal and we are STILL waiting on the Iraqis to announce it’s enactment.

The moral of the story is, just because it’s a done deal in Iraq, doesn’t mean the Iraqis are ready to enact when we think they should.
