All kidding aside, the original rumor was and is: "it had already happened and we were awaiting notification."

Then Susie added her personal opinion: "why i am eagerly anticipating this weekends passing."

The word I got is the guy said the papers were signed and we are waiting for the announcement, he didn’t say anything about this weekend. I think that was just a natural “American” assumption.

Here is a fact, the FIL is a done deal and we are STILL waiting on the Iraqis to announce it’s enactment.

The moral of the story is, just because it’s a done deal in Iraq, doesn’t mean the Iraqis are ready to enact when we think they should.

Interesting...this thread started witha great rumour....then the bickering started...now it is supported with another rumour...ad there is still bickering. No one needs to quit this site, as well people who are not interested in the rumours should just stay out of the thread. personally I like to think of the rumours as Info. sharring for those of us who son't have contacts. Thanks Susie and Dr. Dave...the info is good and appreciated. If at all possible, maybe Dr. Daves info. should be moved to the other thread with SGS rumour, there we maybe able to ask questions pertaining to these rumours.....without the debating and bashing.

What I think most people have a problem with in a rumor thread is the way it is presented. Take this rumor for example. "It has happened" To me and many other people that is a statement of a fact not a rumor. This should not be in a rumor thread at all but in the news thread if it en-deed has happened. There are only two ways a statement can go. Yes or No! It either has happened or it has not happened. If I say "I have a dog" That is a statement of fact not a rumor. I either have a dog or I don't. Simple semantics would solve alot of problems in the presentation of a rumor.

Perhaps rumor is too broad of a term, who knows, but my interpretation is rather easy to understand. A rumor is an unsubstatiated statement, whether stated as fact or not, it is still a rumor which is not saying it is a fact. You see how simple this is. lol

Rumors are never true or factual to start, but they may indeed prove to be true in time. So from now on, if you are in the rumor section, don't take anything you read as fact until such time it is proven to be true. Very easy to understand, and then no one will get disappointed. I like to read everything that everyone hears, and then I decide which I believe is possible and which are not.

No matter how reasonable and level-headed a postion is made (AND THE ABOVE WAS PERFECTLY WORDED, MIKE), there are ALWAYS those that can't help showing all of us just how smart they think they are by bashing a rumor (you know who you are). That's like arguing that there isn't an Easter Bunny...EVERYONE knows there isn't one, but the bashers will give you hell ANYWAY just so they can sit back and read their own words and feel important! Well many of us here have news for you bashers...your words are not intelligent or "smart", they are a drag to read, pick up your marbles and go home...and really...THERE ISN'T AN EASTER BUNNY!!!!!!

P.S. The sad reality of the basher mentallity is all based on the fact that they are over extended financially and are BANKING on the dinar to hit RIGHT FREAKING NOW or the ship may sink. Tis a sad state of affairs and my heart goes out to those in that position. It is not however an excuse for being RUDE!

Because this is the rumour thread, people do not feel the need to preface everything they say with, "The rumour is..", or "People are saying..", or some such. Nevertheless, this is how you should read it. This is the rumour thread. If you prefer straight news, there is a thread for that and you can ignore the rumours. It amazes me that there is a problem with this simple concept!

I try to be civilized... I havnt made fun of anyone or tried to hurt anyones feelings. I state my opinion in a civilized manor and a few people dont like it so I get bashed?
