I see you WM. Knowles! You've been rather quiet lately! Any words for us? You know they are appreciated!

Hello everyone. Thank you for your kind comments. The question might be, "are their any economic fundamentals to back up an RV at this time"? the answer is yes. Decreases in base money supply (5.2 trillion), decreases in inflation especially when you remove the cost of energy, up and running banking system, oil production up to 3MBD, a budget with the GOI having a history of operating within budget, increases in agri production, and the political issues, FIL, HCL and possibly WTO. So, the fundamentals are in place. This place (Iraq) is already very wealthy and the currency is stable, artifically low (undervalued) and with little purchasing power for the iraqi people. Something that the powers in charge should know will cause much more feelings of goodwill in general and towards the GOI especially. So let the rumors continue, there are several out there and this weekend should be exciting for all of us. Overall, we are in the best place we have ever been in. Thank You.

I have put in a call to Indira in Iraq, [ @ 4:40 pm her time ], to see if she or Brothers, [ Uncle is still in bed ], have heard anything about this in the present or past tense . . .

I will try and post any answer I get later today . . .

    Best to all . . . RR . . .
Details of return phone call from Indira:

    1) Indira’s Uncle Saeed somewhat reluctantly confirms Susie’s info, but with a caveat. Yesterday he spoke to a friend of his who is a member of the KRG and relayed this info to him, including our old friend of .98 Euro = US$1.28723 . . .

    2) His reluctance peaked my interest . . . so I had Indira ask him why he didn’t tell her so she could call me. He replied that this is but one of at least two dozen rumors he has heard in the last couple of months . . . we all must remember that rumors are much abundant over there . . . especially in Kurdistan . . . at least dozens to every one our glorious news / facts miners uncover over here . . . this also explains their reluctance to pass along what they must be skeptical of . . .

    3) Then he went back to the subject he has been doggedly consistent with since our Nov. elections . . . namely . . . do I think all US troops will be removed by the democrats within six months . . . he and many of his associates / friends / are VERY upset with this possibility / and to them it is a lot more important that the RV . . . seems they think their country may be at stake here . . .

    4) Sorry it’s not more resoundingly positive . . . but at least we do have a separate verification . . . for what it’s worth . . .

In answer to a pm query from Phiber . . . Brother's bank teller *friend* mentioned both coins and small denoms . . .

Do you and SGS make money for this rumors? Because like adster said there wont be a rv without a HCL passed. and also the security is horrible. You cant do anything economically without security. Ask any iraqi.

wm knowles: "Decreases in base money supply (5.2 trillion)"

are you referring to the daily auctions? if so-the $$ recirculates back into the society. the $$ isnt removed and burned. if you arent referring to the daily auctions-what are you referring to. do you agree w/my assessment of recycling?
    thanks

The last M2 report I saw showed a reduction from approx 20 trillion in August 2006 to just over 14 trillion in November 2006. That's almost 6 trillion that is definitely gone from circulation. None of that includes the daily auctions since November, which the CBI did state they were reducing money supply. I don't know how much of the IQD bought through these auctions remain in the hands of the CBI, but they did state they were removing a substantial amount....So based on the M2 reports, I believe we can conservatively start at 5 trillion out of circulation.
