While all this sounds positive and good news..$2.41 is a joke and fairy tail . Who came up with this figure?? I mean really... With as many trillions in M2 a Rv that size would make Iraq 5 times richer than the US and be the worlds most powerful nation. Over time i believe it could be a possiblity with all the resources, but as of this or next month no way. All the violence and a new govt that the people have no confidence in and thats lazy. I just cant fathom iraq becoming the worlds most powerful player in a day. It dosent make any sense. A RV at .05 -.35 cents sounds a little bit more believable. Now it could RV soon as these articles are positve yet i dont see anything that say 100% RV within a few weeks. NOW if you put the clues together it sounds as if they will but its all SPECULATION. WHILE IT ALL MAKES SENSE TO............HOWEVER WHEN TO DATE HAS THE IRAQI GOVT DONE ANYTHING ONTIME OR MADE ANY SENSE??? They havent..... Anyone who believes it will rv at 2.41 needs to have there head examined. NO WAY WAKE UP!!!! Tank
Use common sense...the world may just start look different....its always fun to dream...and you never know they may come true ONE DAY

Zubaidi:Monetary value of the Iraqi dinar must revert to the previous level, or at least to acceptable levels as it is in the Iraqi neighboring states.
Shabibi:The bank wants as a means to affect the economic and monetary policy by making the dinar a valuable and powerful.

Someone asked the unanswered question" How will we know when the RV is in effect?"
Just looking on this site may not be completely reliable since rumors are the daily fare here.
Thanks

Gee Tank, what crawled up your behind today? LOL. I tend to agree with you as far as the r/v level but why tell people they need their head examined for believing? Remember this is the rumor/prediction/speculation forum. I personally dream of millions but expect only thousands.

Five cent RV would be an economic assault on it's neighbors and might be treated as such...here is an example....with the Kiwati Dinar at $3.64 and talking of a 25% increase this month putting it north of $4...you and I want to do business in the region....why would we set up shop there when we can move across the river to Bashra (where it is peaceful -for the most part, large modern city with a expanding oil export center) and do the same business for a nickle...Where are you going...$4 verus a nickle...more bang for my buck and thus economic warfare against Kiwait...
I do not think the other countries would/will allow this...for sake of it look at the Jordanian Dinar posts for a $1.60 and they are such an economic powerhouse compared to Iraq???? What resources do they have besides a small port and bible tourists than would make their dinar worth $1.60 and Iraq's a nickle???
If everyone is so hung up on M2 numbers and 1/1 or 2.41/1 is a pipe dream then explain to me how Jordan can function at $1.60/1???
(And why does the IMF put its value at $2.53758 SDR or $1.78 (with conversion) in 2003 with sanctions in place if it wasn't worth so...they really do research these things I assume?)
Plus, if they RV at a nickle the way I understand the IMF is they are more or less stuck there (+-4%) by agreement with the IMF...So, much for a shackout...? And if you look at the IMF's requirements it states something to the fact that they would not allow one country to do so at the expense of their neighbors...unfair competition...etc...currency level should complement existing rates in a region.Last edited by fredgwest1999; 18-04-2007 at 06:23 PM.
