I'm not sure, but I think what you are referring to is that the Iraqi government is pulling the large denominations out of circulation and printing smaller denoms to go in their place, thus making their money worth more. There is someone who posts on here quite often with "The more they take, the more we make" on their posts regarding this. But, they are not reprinting all their money, or negating the money that they have right now.
Oh, by the way, Welcome.

OS, imho, giving a raise of hypothetically, 50% to the estimated 26,000 Iraqi oil workers would have zilch effect on inflation and would not drive the economy into the dirt. The GoI could use some of the dinar brought in from the daily auctions to cover the salary increase and would not necessitate printing a 'boatload of dinar'. I know we all want a reval / reversion of the dinar but maintain a rational thought process and avoid working yourself into a frenzy. I believe that Maliki and his band of buffoons must show their citizens and the world significant reforms and legislation in the next 60 days or risk implementation of the 'salvation government'. Maybe this oil strike threat will trigger something bigger and better. After 3.5 years, I'm ready.

Thank you. To bwgin I would like to apologize for the wording in my first post but right now I am somewhat down on the dinar. I hope you are correct as I am heavily invested but I am hearing otherwise. I have heard that they plan on introducing a new currency soon to replace the dinar. I am told that the replacement currency has already been printed and as proof of this the serial numbers on the current dinar begin with the second letter in the arabic alphabet and the serial numbers on the replacement currency will begin with the first letter in the arabic alphabet. According to what I have heard the replacement currency was printed at the same time as the NID or very soon after. I really hope this is not true but my information comes from very trusted sources. thank you all again and let's hope tomorrow brings us what we want!

I seriously doubt this scenerio man. Primarily because if Iraq did do this it would be considered fraud and on an international level at that. We here in the U.S. are not the only people investing in this country's future, nor is our government the only government involved in the financial future of Iraq. It would seriously cripple their ability to do business on any type of scale if they abandoned everyone who has given aid, and then run away with all the money that has been invested. Could it be done??? Probably, but it would be a slow suicide for Iraq and their people if they did.
