Default PM text storage at time out

    Hi,

I just hit the 'send' button after having finished a long, well thought through PM... when Rolclub asked for a login... and when (re)logged in... my message is gone, gone... (Returning previous screen didn't help,...)

I know one should definitely write any serious mail/post in Wordpad/... first. So it is 'never' lost when the browser crashes, times out or whatever... But stil... If rolclub *could* save your draft prior to asking for a login... this should just be wonderful.

    Cheers!

    Question

    Bump

I log in, go to PM, finish an extensive message, press 'send', am asked to login again and *all gone*. *Twice*.

Maybe it's the internet pub's connection. Can anyone confirm this,or tell me what internet/forum settings I should change? On other forums I attend, afaik the post's content is preserved! It's - allow me - pretty frustrating.

Have you allowed the coockies of the forum to enter your PC?

ps At login, I'm not (always) asking rolclub to 'remember me' as I'm checking in at an internet pub/... Just in case that has something to do with it...

If you have not installed the forum coockies the forum will not remember you, and you will have to log in again when the computer is switched off or you close the browser. On Internet caf's the security is usually set so high on the PC's that the coockies are difficult or impossible to install................

    Does this help at all?

    Hi, Shelly,

thanks for taking your time to try and help me with this one .
At the internet pub I'm currently 'hooked in', cookies seem fine. But I'll check the cookie issue out at the other place where rolclub got nasty on me last time...

And for now, I'll try to think about always pressing the keys CTRL+A (select all) CTRL+C (copy) before hitting 'send'.

Btw... I suspected some kind of timer feature being the cause because... You know, this never happens when I write small messages. It always happens when I've finished an extensive reply or elaborate PM to someone. Somewhere along the line, rolcub 'looses me' but ... unfortunately only tells me so *after* I've hit the 'send' button (after which I'm redirected to a login screen and after re-logging in... the User CP area... with no trace left of the message I (wanted to) send . Anyway... fwiw ;-). Thanks again for your thoughts!

    Hasse
