I would not use this OS anyway.
Too expensive, too buggy, too much hackers, viruses and other junk. Most of the computer problems are MS related.ride hard

If it's true, there's a simple solution - 2 PC's. Have one connected normally to the net, and the other not connected to it. Transfer everything over via CD/DVD or a USB drive.
Or, use a Mac or Linux...
Somebody would hack it all within about 3 minutes of it's release anyway.

Alternatives to Windows
You might want to consider one of the Linux alternatives to windows. I have one pc with Linspire OS installed and it works just great. You can check it out at their web site www.linspire.com.

kind of expensive and the click and run stuff they offer, hmm I would not like to have this, sorry.
Check this here http://www.ubuntu.com, they ship the cd's free to your door. Very evil ;-)
Make sure you ask them for the live AND the install cd. Try the live cd first.ride hard

I don't necessarily subscribe to the argument that Linux is totally secure because viruses only target MS. There are Linux viruses out there, and if Linux was a prevalent as MS then there would be loads more. There are only more MS viruses because there are hundreds of millions more MS boxes.
Most virsues spread by *****s opening attachments anyway, although of course some notable ones use exploits. If Linux were more widely used then I'm sure exploits would be found for it.

nej - exactly.
If i wrote a webserver it would take me one day and it would be secure until it became popular and targeted. The reason linux boxes are so touted is precisely because of this - no one is going after them. Yes MS would rather make it work rather than be secure, but as much as i like to paint them as the devil, i do realise they are stuck between a rock and a hard place. Oh yes BTW, i hadmet andrew mcbean the CTO for them last year for lunch to discuss this and development issues (i was CTO for a software house at the time) - MS are not stupid. Greedy maybe, but definitely not stupid. Google and gmail particularly is the new evil.

New Evil??
Common guys... this is old news. Why are you guys doing this?
This will be cut and paste as usual:
http://www.microsoft.com/presspass/f...palladium.mspx
EDITORS' UPDATE, January 25, 2003 -- Microsoft has discontinued use of the code name "Palladium." The new components being developed for the Microsoft® Windows® Operating System, which are described in this article under the code name "Palladium," are now referred to as the Next-Generation Secure Computing Base for Windows.
http://arstechnica.com/news/posts/1083785108.html
"On Tuesday, Microsoft executives confirmed that NGSCB will be canned. The project, dreamed up with Intel in 2002, was once code-named Palladium..."
ohh...I forgot something too:
"Update: Microsoft is now saying that NGSCB is not dead after all. According to Juarez, the code is still "alive and kicking," but noted that they are not at all certain how much of it will be implemented in Longhorn.Last edited by skhang; 11-10-2005 at 04:05 PM. Reason: wordings.
