Thread: Please Help, Cyber Stalking

Anyone who can help....

I need help finding out who is sending threatening IM
messages thru AOL IM to my son who is 16 years old.

He has been harrassed in school locally daily since September 05
and even had another student (harrasser) drive their vehicle at him
while jogging on the side of the road as if to hit him.
His best friends car was vandalised and a tire slashed
on school grounds by these punks 2 weeks ago.

I have contacted the police but they havent
given me any indication that they will followup
on the threats that are happening over AOL IM.
The school is not doing anything beyond speaking
to the perpetrators, even after I
spoke to them in person twice and asking them
to contact the other parents. Which they havent.

Can anyone help me figure out how to nail these punks
and put a stop to this? Isnt there away to
find out what there IP address is or something like that?

When that person is connected to the AIM click start > run > cmd > netstat-n and look for the IP address that is using Port 4443

I tried typing netstat-n and it didnt work.

netstat works and lists a bunch of stuff.

Once I see this port number what do I do?

My son IMs with several friends at a time.
Does he quit chatting with them for this to work?

You certainly don't want us to encourage you to take the law into your own hands....not after we all know, you were seeking for some tips to nail the buggars.... well, you might like to spread the word round to the local Mob...about who nicked their latest loot....heeheee...and scatter the A4s around town with a description of the two coyotes....that'll see the two goons out of town for sometime....good luck Ann.

Your humor is always enjoyed...but this is very serious
and I have great concern that my son or a friend is going
to get hurt.

I had actually thought about contacting a friend of the family
that knows some H.A. members and has offered help
before when I was personally being stalked by some unscurpulous types...but that seemed a bit drastic and i dont want karma to come back and bite me.

My humor on such issues are serious but camouflaged with an undertone...for the obvious reasons (not going into that and for the obvious reasons again however....) and better it be left sometimes to the adversaries of the Cops to do the deterrance than leave it to them that gets it all demoralised by yet another fumbling frigid Judge that is out of the times and the culprits are not treated as their punishment should be imposed....

Sometimes, I feel, our "trained" Policemen on the beat really knows the groundlevel better and are sharper in tune with the right decisions needed... (excluding those with unnecessary abuse of power by kicking/punching in public on detainee). ...btw, that A4 flyer method WORKS!!!

But, it's a choice of course...and all options must be viewed too...the AOL deterrance measures are a good example too...

But, I did have luck with the info from Sailingdom and was able to make
a report and complaint to AOL IM security personel.
They were really helpful.
Hope this puts a stop to all of this....

We all hope that would help too and if it isn't effective, there's the A4 flyers....
A4 Flyers= Prints you DIY at home with either the faces of your pets, dog or cat ...whatever, and with a reward and for those "bad stalking dudes", a bounty price perhaps describing them and distribute nicely around specific haunts in town and neighborhood.... it's a simple and cheap way and no one can stop you unless you litter the streets...so be careful, just like them stalkers.
